Cellist Stefano Cabrera is the musical mind behind the GnuS Cello YouTube channel. He arranges and performs beautiful, moving cello covers of popular songs. 

In October 2016 he shared his first cello cover on YouTube. Since then, he's released over 150 videos on his channel, which soon reached over 67 million views and 551 thousand subscribers. In little more than two years, his music has gained over 8 million streams on Spotify. Artists like Tyler Joseph, leader of Twenty One Pilots, and Muse noticed his videos and tweeted about them, sharing GnuS Cello's music with their fans. In 2018 he was awarded as one of the 20 Best Cello YouTube Channels on the Planet by "Feedspot" blog. So far he has released a complete album, three EPs and about 100 singles on all the major online platforms. 

 

Stefano Cabrera is an Italian cellist, composer and arranger. After graduating in 1992 from the "Conservatorio Niccolò Paganini" of Genoa, he further studied with Mario Brunello, Yo-Yo Ma, Amedeo Baldovino, Emil Kline. He also studied jazz and composition, as well as orchestration and arrangement at the Berklee School of Music. His compositions have been awarded in important national and international competitions, and they've been performed in international festivals and prestigious locations in Italy and abroad. From 1994 to 2009 he worked as a section cello, composer and arranger at the 'Carlo Felice' Theater in Genoa. Since 2006 he is the cellist and arranger of the GnuQuartet, with whom he has collaborated with many of the most famous Italian artists, like Gino Paoli, Francesco De Gregori and Negramaro.

Stefano and the GnuQuartet have played on hundreds of prestigious stages, from Italy to California, from South Korea to Mexico.
